Sydney Clinical Psychologist

Clinical Psychology and More is located at Parramatta, the centre of Sydney. Based in a beautiful historic cottage, decorated in warm, inviting furnishings to ensure that you feel at ease. The cottage is only a 10-minute bus ride from Parramatta station, or a 15-minute walk from the ferry terminal. As a Clinical Psychologist, Jo Gravina is only interested in what works for patients. She only uses research-supported treatments for emotional problems and mental illness, which are supported by peak bodies such as the Australian Psychological Society, and Society of Clinical Psychology (Division 12, APA). Evidence-based treatment is delivered in a tailored, therapeutic way that meets the needs of each person, guided by her many years of clinical experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does therapy cost?

Jo charges a standard fee that is significantly lower than the Australian Psychological Society’s recommended fee for treatment. You will be able to obtain a Medicare rebate of $129.55 for each session if you have a mental health care plan from your doctor. This plan will enable you to access up to 10 individual therapy sessions per year. Click here for more information . Both Medicare and private health insurance claims can be processed onsite. Should you be experiencing financial stress, Jo will negotiate a reasonable fee with you.

How long will therapy take?

The length of therapy is dependent on a number of factors including:
• The complexity of the issue
• The severity of the issue
• The therapy goal
• How frequently treatment strategies are practiced between sessions

Some issues can be resolved in 1-2 sessions. For example, if someone obtained therapy to learn how best to support their partner with a mental illness. Other issues such as the impact of childhood trauma may take considerably longer.
